View, AKA 25 year old Juuso Ruohonen, proffers a confessional, confident debut album, ‘Leave A Comment’, out today via VILD Recordings.
Following the release of the hard-hitting, ‘Trippin’ Sober’, and softer, more intimate gems ‘Deeper (Bitch Leave a Comment)’ and ‘Say It Again’ which are centered around laid-back vocals by Ronya and Kasmir, View’s debut LP demonstrates the multi-talented artist’s ability to switch up his sound to capture a spectrum of genre and mood. Grime, hip-hop, ballads, dub step; it’s all present and crafted so exquisitely that it triumphs at every hurdle.
In conjunction with the release of ‘Leave A Comment’, a 3-part music video will be released promoting album highlights ‘Do It Again’, ‘Burn Slow’ and ‘Bad Habits’.
View will embark on a 10-date tour across Germany, Australia and Switzerland in February, beginning at One of a Million Festival in Baden, completing dates at Milla in Munich and YUCA in Cologne, before finalizing the tour in Vienna.
With a powerful debut effort under his belt, 2018 looks set to be the year for the breakout Finnish rapper.
After successfully releasing their debut album ‘Teenage Sweetheart’, Have You Ever Seen the Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? return with a new single ‘Magic Swimming Pants’. Out on VILD Recordings on July 28th.
‘Magic Swimming Pants’ is somewhat typical HYESTJFAVHS?-tune with its raw sound, earworm-melodies and surreal lyrics. “An Anthem of late summer for the freeminded.”, describes Ekku Lintunen, the Casio wizard of the band.
Along the release Have You Ever Seen the Jane Aerobic VHS? head over to the UK for three festival shows. On the last weekend of July the band is playing Leopallooza, Farmfest and Kendal Calling.
After their debut album release in fall 2015 the Finnish garage pop trio has been praised in the international music media and they have gathered fans around the world. The band has claimed support from the likes of well known BBC DJ’s Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart, Chris Hawkins and Tom Racenscroft. They have been featured on Consequence of Sound, Forbes, Drowned in Sounds, MTV Iggy, The Line of The Best Fit and Clash Magazine to name a few. Their concert highlights include performances at Roskilde Festival (DK), Flow Festival (FI), Pohoda (SK), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), The Great Escape (UK),Eurosonic (NL) and Europavox (FR). Among bigger festivals HYESTJFAVHS? played their first UK-tour in fall 2016.
Consisting of Susanna Stemma-Sihvola (vocals & bass),Ekku Lintunen (keyboards & vocals) and Janne-Petteri Pitkälä (drums), Have You Ever Seen the Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? is a strange bird in the Finnish rock scene not only because of it’s long name, but also because the band doesn’t have a guitar player. Instead melodies and distorted sound walls are created by good old Casio and Eco-organs. Packed with 60’s girl group/soul-melodies, bubble gum punk riffs and pounding drums, which will make your eardrums bleed, this newcomer is truly something to get to know.
We are excited to announce that Dallas Kalevala are releasing their second official single ‘Moon Makes Me Happy’ today!
‘Moon Makes Me Happy’ is a sparkling pop-anthem about passion, lust and quilt. It tells how a one single blink of an eye could tear down everything. It’s not about the sun – it’s all about the moon.
“It’s been said some songs write itself. This is definitely the one. I don’t even remember us writing this. It just appeared in the studio. Couple of fresh pots, few hours tracking and there it was. Lyricwise happened exactly same. It’s a strong story so we cut the bullshit and just sang. Simply the best,” describes Ville Malja.
Dallas Kalevala is fierce subarctic pop music. It floats naked among Iggy Pop and Justice on a cool summer night.
Ville Malja and Jussi Matikainen have been working on new music in various places, including Berlin, Reykjavik and Kokemäki, to name just a few. The journey they have taken has provoked them to discard safe old routines and find new surprising paths.
“The feeling of being an outsider has always troubled me and has not gotten any easier over the years. Luckily it generates creativity instead of apathy. After the sixth Lapko album I started to feel that I have to rush off into an adventure on my own and start a new band. I found Jussi waiting in the same corridor and together we bought a pile of airline tickets and are now driving fast into the sunrise with a crystal clear vision in the windshield,” Malja explains. ”Dallas Kalevala is the melting pot for the east and the west, leather and linen, bitter and sweet. It combines Carelian lament singers with Coca Cola.”
Dallas Kalevala is currently finalizing their new songs with the Teosto-rewarded producer Niko Liinamaa, also known as Kalifornia Keke. The band recently signed a management deal with VILD Music, who will also release the first singles from the upcoming album on their label VILD Recordings.
The release will set to follow a performance at one of the biggest Finnish summer festivals, Ruisrock and the band’s first club show tour, taking in 11 dates from Helsinki, all the way up to the northern capital Oulu. Live the band extends to a three piece group when bass player Maria Rantanen joins Malja and Matikainen on stage.

VILD Recordings’ new folk pop artist, Sätilä, releases his first official single Always Will on March 10th 2017 via VILD Recordings.
The Finnish singer-songwriter Teemu Sätilä combines alternative and folk rock with catchy melodies creating a danceable balance between melancholic reflection and hopefulness. Currently based in the southern city of Turku, Finland, Sätilä started writing songs at the age of 7 after learning the piano. After studying songwriting in Sydney, Australia and returning to Finland, Sätilä released his anthemic debut single Future Now in June 2015. The independently released single was noticed by YleX (Finnish equivalent of BBC Radio 1) and Spotify Finland as well as Spotify Sweden.
Always Will is about the transition when you finally get to move on in life. You long for new opportunities and people while still appreciating where you are coming from with a bit of nostalgia.
“For a long time I felt uneasy when people asked me where I’m from. We moved quite a bit in my childhood because of my mother’s work so I never kind of put my roots down. After moving to Turku, where my mother was born, I felt like I had returned to my roots. Maybe it’s because we’ve always had relatives there and I’ve made so many great friends,” the singer-songwriter Teemu Sätilä describes.
The track also features a music video. “I had the amazing privilege to have Markus Kontiainen direct and film the music video for the track. He is such a talented storyteller and has done great work for Finnish companies such as Finnair and Marimekko as well as filming videos for the Finnish band Lake Jons. It was so cold but a lot of fun. We started the two-day shootings with sauna, of course,” Teemu Sätilä describes the session. The music video for Always Will will be released on March 17th.
